CS4All is more than just a class. We are a community of learners who support and inspire each other to reach our goals.
Our Curriculum
CS4All is dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of computer science. We aim to make sure that the next generation of software engineers understands the computers they will be coding on. Our organization runs an eight-week club in elementary schools, collaborating with the parent/teacher organizations of these schools.
The CS4All curriculum's main goal is to develop a comprehensive understanding of how computers work along with teaching how to approach computer science problems logically. We teach the history of computing and how it has evolved to modern-day computers, take a deep dive into electrical computing, and teach students about the different parts of a computer. We then explore the era of coding and how programming languages have evolved and helped develop an understanding of the internet and how computers are able to connect to each other in the modern day. Finally, we teach the basics (using Scratch) to the students—taking a project-based approach to help them learn.
Although many concepts are covered, CS4All makes its lessons engaging and exciting for the students. We have many hands-on activities that help the students learn, and play fun games at the end of lessons for students to look forward to while solidifying what they learned.
